Datasets

& alignment with Workplan Task

Gather, organize and disseminate available datasets, eventually other resources, created within 3D-ConTourNet for research purposes (e.g. 3D media streams, user study data and quality metrics). Available 3D media content will be summarized in collaboration with the WGs (especially WG1 and WG4) and Qualinet. Information on ongoing work and outcomes will be communicated via the Action website.

• To propose suitable tools and methods to gather, organize and disseminate datasets within 3D-ConTourNet (database of datasets) and scientific community
• To investigate how to organize an online repository with publicly accessible relevant information on registered datasets, including restricted access, credits, usage tracking, call for new datasets, comments, etc.
• To collect information on existing datasets  relevant for 3D-ConTourNet, especially those produced by the Action partners including contents of different types, distortions and user study data when available
• To emphasize the visibility of datasets created jointly by various 3D-ConTourNet partners (especially outcomes of STSMs), e.g.  when STSM leads to the production of a dataset it should be reported to the Task Force
• To foster the creation of new datasets  in line with novel  use cases  following best practices on reporting (lighfield and pleno)

• Preliminary recommendation for reporting on 3D datasets.
• Proposal of an online repository with publicly accessible relevant information on registered datasets.
• Leaflet or whitepaper to promote 3D-ConTourNet achievements on datasets.
• New datasets jointly produced and registered in the database. A special effort on lightfield/pleno datasets (content only).
